A Word from our Principal.

Some may think it a daunting task to choose a school for their child; Footprint Montessori acknowledges the challenge while providing a wonderful solution. Not only are you selecting where and how your child will be educated, but also where he or she will grow into a confident, capable young person. Shivamala Narasappa

Since 2005, Shivamala has been teaching children using the Montessori methods in India and abroad. She has trained in the USA and has a Diploma in Montessori education from AMI (Association Montessori Internationale along with a Masters in Education (M.Ed.) degree from Loyola college in Maryland (USA). Shivamala also has B.Sc. and MBA degrees.Teaching and working with children is a passion, that inspired her to start her own Montessori pre-school in Richmond town, Bangalore.

All our teachers, whom we call Montessori Guides/Adults are Montessori trained and they hold Diplomas from esteemed training institutes in Bangalore. They are passionate about what they do and it is with strong conviction that they pursue this career.

Jayashree M.

Jayashree has been associated with Footprint Montessori since June 2010, following her Montessori Diploma at the Indian Montessori Center. As the Vice-Principal, she considers teaching children a privilege. Her dedication is such that she travels a significant distance daily. Jayashree enjoys bonding with children, fostering their confidence, learning, and overall development. She believes in nurturing children's innate potential to bring out their best, and like Dr. Maria Montessori, she is committed to providing a rich learning environment for young children.


Umadevi M

Uma has been with Footprint Montessori since June 2009, its inaugural year, initially as an assistant. She completed her Montessori training under the late Meenakshi Sivaramakrishnan, a senior trainer in Bangalore. After five years, she took a two-year maternity leave and has since returned, continuing to be a vital asset. Her kind words are soothing to crying children who have newly joined school. Her passion for working with children is evident by their overall progress, and she is adored by them.


Geetha R

Geetha joined Footprint Montessori in November 2018 as a Montessori directress/facilitator. She earned her Montessori Diploma at the Indian Montessori Center in 2010 and holds a BCom. Previously, Geetha worked as a facilitator and branch co-ordinator at Roots Montessori from 2012 to 2018. She is a valuable asset ro Footprint Montessori and also holds classes in the afternoon for children from other schools, who need extra help with their studies.


Asha Yadav J

Asha joined Footprint Montessori in June 2024 as a lead adult in the Toddlers classroom. She holds a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in sericulture, in addition to her Montessori training. Asha volunteered for many years at Asha Deep ENT Center, providing speech therapy classes for cochlear implant recipients. More recently, she completed a six-month BPAC program, which focused on citizens' contributions to civic issues. Her past experience as a therapist brings immense value to her role as a teacher.


Pooja Kumari

Pooja joined Footprint Montessori in October 2024 as a Teacher. Before joining us, Pooja worked as a preschool teacher in Hosur. She earned her BCom from Bishop Cotton Women's Christian College, where she was a class representative for three years. Pooja received awards for Best Class Prefect (Representative), Best Outgoing Student of 2012, and Best All-Rounder in 2012. She also received a 100% attendance award for five consecutive years from PUC to her final degree year. She is currently pursuing her B.Ed. and plans to complete her Montessori training at IMTC once her B.Ed. is finished.


Anita Vinod

Anita who became a valuable member of our team in June 2025 as a Teacher. Anita brings a year of experience from a preschool in Wilson Garden. She is proficient in both Montessori and Kindergarten methodologies and also holds a diploma in Fashion Technology. Her talents in drawing and craft are a wonderful asset to our classrooms, as she skillfully integrates them into engaging activities for the children.
