Toddler Program

Our bright and sunny toddler classroom is designed for children aged 18 to 30 months.  It is a world that is scaled down to a child’s size.  Tiny tables and chairs, low hooks for jackets and ankle high toilets foster independence and self-sufficiency.  Here your child paints, cooks, waters the garden, sweeps with miniature brooms, washes dishes and plays with materials that develop fine and gross motor coordination.

We encourage one parent/caregiver to accompany the child for a few months until the child completely settles down.

This is the age when language development is most actively pursued and it is imperative  that the he is surrounded by rich and stimulating conversations.  An 18 month child, trying to blow bubbles, might be encouraged with “Blow! Can you make the air move just like the wind?”  When a 20 month child picks up a peach, we point out that “It is spherical, just like a ball.”  The toddler’s mind absorbs the new vocabulary, which plants the seeds for reading, writing and self-expression in the future.

This prepared environment is a joyful place. It offers your child an incredible opportunity to explore her world under the guidance of highly capable teachers.  Your child will emerge as a confident, independent community member ready to move on to the next stage of her journey – the Pre-Primary environment for 2 ½ to 6 year old children.
